Sometimes it is more effecient to load two or more assortments
It is forbidden to choose the combined forwarding when the wood is buried under snow.
If the forwarder needs only drive 20 meters to load up fully, the work will naturally be done more quickly than if it has to drive 200 meters to do so.
Combined forwarding needs more time for cleaning a trail.
What means skidding?
Skidding means to load one or more assortments into a forwarder without loading it to capacity and then forward them towards the landing
Skidding means to forward the hole logs from one trail to the landing and piling in in single piles.
Skidding means, to grab a single big log and pull it out of the forest to the landing. These big logs are too heavy to load them up onto the forwarder
When is skidding appropriate? Select the WRONG statements!
When you have long distances with 400 meters or more.
When you have short forwarding distances and high wood concentrations.
When you are forwarding wood over long distances across difficult terrain and the volume harvested per hectare is low.
