There are different systems for GROT harvesting. The GROT is forwarded and placed in a pile on the landing.
The GROT can be chipped at the landing and then transported to the . It can be transported in a special chip truck with no loading equipment, however, then another vehicle, like a , is needed to load the chips into the containers on the chip truck. The GROT chipped at the landing can also be driven to the terminal by a bucket truck or it can be transported there by a special equipped to load and unload the itself. Chipper-equipped trucks are used for both chipping GROT on the landing and transporting it to the terminal. A realtively new system is represented by the truck with detachable . The detachable chipper can be parked at a suitable place while the truck transports the chips to the heating plant.
GROT can be bundled at the harvesting site as "green material" or "brown material" (after drying for a period of time). Then the are forwarded to a landing and piled there.
